Testimonials

“Jaydee is a born storyteller. Charming and witty. She sees the humorous side of things.” -- Mary Lou Gripshover, former President, Executive Director, and The Daffodil Journal Editor, American Daffodil Society

“I met Eric Breed some 25 years ago when he graciously presented me with a slide show about special miscellaneous bulbs at the office of Konijnenburg & Mark, our family’s nursery in the Netherlands. He casually, yet meticulously, unlocked the magic of each variety’s history as well as his personal experience of them, as if he were speaking of childhood chums. A couple of years later, on the most perfect of spring mornings, Eric picked me up at my aunt’s house in Noordwijk, and took me to his father’s renown collection of flower bulbs that was in full bloom. It was an embarrassment of riches that overwhelmed me to the core. I didn’t know where to look first. Standing deep in the middle of Mr. Breed’s living museum of flower bulbs, I had to focus to avoid a sensory meltdown. The small-cupped Narcissus collection was my choice, although it too was overwhelming. Eric and his father spoke of each variety with intimate fondness and knowledge, as if they were each cherished family members. Eric, always so kind and thoughtful, brought a thermos of coffee and Dutch cookies, as if he knew such a break would help ground me from the headiness of the experience. My late father, Jan Ohms, held Eric’s expertise in high regard and valued his friendship, as do I. I can only imagine that you will delight in Eric’s vast knowledge, detailed observations, generous insights, intrinsic goodness, comfortable sense of humor and brilliant photography.” -- Jo-Anne van den Berg-Ohms, CEO Van Engelen, John Scheepers and Kitchen Garden Seeds

“Eric is a very nice guy who I have known for many, many years. He is a fantastic photographer and is sought for his knowledge of bulbs. We say, like his father, that Eric is a walking encyclopedia and when you have a question, he will always help you.” -- Jan Pennings, Proprietor, J.S. Pennings-Breezand; past President, Keukenhof; Bulb Committee Chair, KAVB and RHS
